As we searched for the vacation getaway cabin of our dreams in the Northwoods of WI, we came across way too many examples of properties that had rustic decor, but needed just a tad of updating, cleaning, or downright demolition to be livable. We coined the term “Crustic™” to describe these properties, these rooms, and the overall decor. Remember that these photos are public and were posted to attempt to sell these properties. Mommy, Where Does The Stuff in the Toilet Go?
“Don’t worry about that dear…and it’s not really a toilet. Just be sure to use those wipes and close the lid tightly when you are done, OK?”
As we searched across the Northwoods of Wisconsin, for for a relaxing cabin in the woods, what we found was the basis for the word we termed as "Crustic." Consider it a healthy amount of crustiness added to a rustic base for a stew of "What were they thinking?" The photos here are from actual real estate listings attempting to sell these treasures.
